TODAY (Sunday, 15 March] has seen another a major milestone for Thurrock Nub News as our hyper-local news website has crashed through the 400,000 page views mark.

To say we are delighted is an understatement.

The website was launched in the middle of November last and in just over three months has carried hundreds of local community-based stories – many of them exclusively.

Nub News CEO Karl Hancock says: "Around the UK, the Nub News mission is to put 'your town in your pocket' - making reliable, trustworthy local news easily accessible on all devices, but particularly mobile.

"In Thurrock our regional editor Neil Speight is delivering that with a steady stream of interesting, often exclusive stories and features and the public are responding.

"For the websites to achieve more than 400,000 page views in such a short time is testament to our core value of serving the public the real news they require on their doorstep through thr work of our experienced regional news editor Neil Speight who doesn't just know his patch – he lives there.

"Combining his expertise with the growing concept of community publishing – giving local businesses, organisations, charities, schools and sports clubs a platform to self-publish their own news and set their own agendas – is essential for us."

Through the unique NubIt link our readers can contribute interesting, relevant and well-read content and event listings. It's quick, easy and, of course, free.

All submitted content is moderated before going live by our experienced team of journalists - no fake news guaranteed.

And, don't forget, the websites also feature live travel and weather information, events listings, classifieds, properties for sale and jobs - all localised to Thurrock.
