Corringham D-I-Y will be reopening its doors - but without longserving Deb Huelin.

A CORRINGHAM D-I-Y shop is marking its return to business this weekend by signing up and joining the near 200 local traders and companies using Thurrock Nub News' FREE local listings service to promote its business.

But though the business is coming back after coronavirus, there will be changes, with one of its long-serving owners moving on.

The town's well-established Your Do It Yourself Centre is reopening its doors to customers on Saturday, 20 June when all services including key-cutting and picture framing will be available again.

The local D-I-Y and craft shop will be opening up with controls in place to safely allow customers to shop at a social distance, keeping themselves and staff safe.

Kirstin Hebb-Smith, one of the shop managers said: "We are all set up to trade again, and look forward to welcoming customers back. We have got all the controls in place to help customers purchase their DIY and craft accessories safely - including hand sanitizer, one-way systems and Perspex screens".

"We have missed our customers and cannot wait to see them again".

The shop management team have announced that Deb Huelin is leaving the shop, after taking on the business from her father Ron many years ago. Deb is leaving to enjoy new pursuits.

Kirstin said: "Ron and Deborah have run a successful business which is known by so many, across the whole borough for over 40 years - and we wish them every best wish as they leave.

Joining the management team is Thurrock resident Lorraine Trundle, who has a long career in retail. Lorraine said: "I worked with Kirstin for many years in a former life; and I'm so excited to join her again. We have got great plans for the shop. The shop has something for everyone - and is perfectly placed for people decorating, kids who want to do arts and craft, and people wanting to put their hand to knitting and crochet."
