RESIDENTS across Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham are being invited to take part in a multi-location yard sale across the two towns next month.

The event is planned for Saturday, 10 August from 11am to 3pm.

Residents are invited to hold sales of good at their homes, which will be collated on a map and promoted on social media.

One of those behind the idea is local businesswoman Katie Vale who says: "Stanford le Hope and Corringham will to host their first-ever community yard sale, encouraging recycling, benefiting the environment, raising personal finances, and fostering community spirit.

"Residents will have the opportunity to sell items from the comfort of their homes, promoting the benefits of recycling, enhancing personal finances, and strengthening community bonds.

"This vibrant event aims to bring the Thurrock community together, offering a platform for neighbours to connect, interact, and support each other.

"The yard sale also underscores the importance of recycling by encouraging the reuse of items that might otherwise be discarded, thereby benefiting the environment.

"Participants can look forward to a diverse array of goods including clothes, toys, furniture, home decor, and much more. Whether you are looking to declutter your home, find unique treasures, or simply enjoy a fun day out, the Stanford & Corringham Yard Sale promises something for everyone."
