OFFICIALS from Essex and Suffolk Water have assured residents of the safety of a restored water supply after dealing with a significant leak overnight.
Thurrock Nub News reported last evening (Saturday, 3 January) on the burst at the junction of Giffords Cross Road and Springhouse Road in Corringham.
Engineers worked throughout the night to complete repairs and this morning issued the following statement: "Following a burst to a water pipe in Corringham on Saturday 3 January 2026, we're pleased this has now been fully repaired.

"Our team worked through the night to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.
"Road repairs will take place over the next few days, and two-way traffic management will remain in place until the road surface is restored.

"We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding while we carried out this work. If customers notice any discoloured water, please run your taps until it clears.
"This is completely normal after a burst and is caused by harmless deposits being disturbed inside the pipes.
"Further details can be found here https://www.eswater.co.uk/discolouration."
