POLICE have released incidents of a significant incident in Corringham on Friday evening (2 December) which saw a vehicle crash into a wall and a public disturbance involving several people.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Springhouse Road, outside the Springhouse Club - though it was not directly involved other than some members engaged outside in a bid to keep the peace.
Witnesses have told Nub News the incident involved an attack on at least one person, with a vehicle driven at him.
The police statement says: "We received reports of the occupants of a vehicle acting suspiciously in Springhouse Road.
"Officers arrived at the scene a found a damaged vehicle with a number of suspicious items inside. The vehicle has been seized and recovered.
"A search of the area was carried out, and no occupants could be identified.
"At this stage, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing with a number of targeted lines of enquiry being explored.
"We'd like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area around 7pm on Friday or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
