TWO men have been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into an altercation in Grays.

A film of the violent clash on Thurrock Nub News, published in the wake of the incident at the Bull pub on Dock Road Tuesday, 23 June has been viewed by more than 600,000 people.

And the incident, and others in the area, has prompted action by recently-elected Reform Little Thurrock ward councillors Eddie Stringer and Marion Cherry. Cllr Stringer took to social media this morning (Sunday, 5 July) to say: "As one of your elected ward councillors, last night as promised, between 10.45pm and 1 am this morning I observed Dock Road and The Bull Public House.

"I walked Churchill Road, The Willows and Dock Road to listen to noise levels, (no machine to monitor) just my ears

"I parked outside the houses next to the pub. While there I witnessed excessive noisy vehicles cars and motorbikes speeding, dangerously driving, over taking parked cars and a couple of very near misses. I would like to state that these incidents were not attributed to the pub but should not be occurring.

"With regards to the pub itself I observed several of the incidents regularly reported so I now know first hand that the concerns of the residents are totally justified.

"I spoke to the management and door supervisors as the last of their clientele were leaving and discussed what I had witnessed and also ways and actions I would want to see improved.

"I will keep residents informed of progress being made, but just wanted to let the wider community know that both Cllr Cherry and I are here to make a difference and hopefully you will begin to see this.

"Both have been released on bail while our enquiries continue.

"We're still working hard to build a full picture of the circumstances of this altercation, so please get in touch if you have any information and haven't spoken to us already
