Uplifting job sees little boat hitch a ride on big ship

By Neil Speight   7th Mar 2021

THERE was an unusual job for crane operators at DP World's London Gateway port yesterday.

Port operations director Andrew Bowen picks up the story, saying: "Container terminals don't just move steel boxes. Ever thought about how some odd shaped cargo is transported around the world?

"The team yesterday (Saturday, 6 March) lifted an amazing UK-made cruiser out the Thames using one of quay cranes.

"It will then be loaded onto a ship and be transported all of the way to my home town of Brisbane, Australia! Great job the team."
