Two people have been charged as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs in Thurrock.

Anti-drug officers investigating the supply of Class A drugs in the area executed a warrant in Tilbury early on Tuesday 1 October.

During that, a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

During the search, a number of items of significance to the police investigation were seized. Officers also uncovered a knife, as well as an amount of cannabis and a nitrous oxide cannister.

Both people arrested were questioned throughout the day and have now been charged with a series of offences.

Harry Baldwin, 23, and Maddison Brickwood, 33, both of Stephenson Avenue, Tilbury, have been charged with three counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, possession of a Class B drug, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation.

The investigation has been carried out by the Essex Police Operation Raptor West team alongside Op Orochi collegues, both of whom specialise in investigating the supply of illicit drugs in Essex.

Detective Sergeant Mason Doyle said: "This is clearly a significant step forward in this investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in Thurrock.

"Op Raptor and Op Orochi are working every day to identify people who we believe are involved in the supply of drugs.

"We don't tolerate the sale of drugs in Thurrock. The supply of any illicit drugs causes harm in our communities and we're determined to take action against those who we believe to be involved."
