Our weekly preview of 'What's On in Thurrock' picks out a selection of events hosted on our events guide and highlights the annial Stanford and Corringham Carnival that takes place on Saturday.

A big event taking place in the borough this weekend is at High House in Purfleet.

On Saturday, 16 September, from 10am to 4pm. High House Community Group and Thurrock Arts Council will play hosts to a variety of local groups to present an entertaining programme of Creative and Performance Arts as part of National Heritage Open Days.

There will be laughter galore at Thurock Rugby Club on Friday evening.

Ladies Night with Fanny Galore will include bingo - but there will be whole lot more going on!

On Saturday Aveley Community Hub at New Maltings (RM15 4BY) members of the Caribbean community will be among those celebrating the 75th anniversary of Windrush.
