By Nub News Reporter 22nd Mar 2026
IT was already the talk of the playground - 20 children from Arthur Bugler Primary are heading to London on Saturday, 25 April, to tackle the TCS Mini London Marathon.
But the school has now announceda major update – their students won't be out there alone.
Staff members from the school will be lacing up their trainers to run right alongside the children.
Swapping their whiteboards for running shoes, these staff members will be there to guide, support, and celebrate the children's achievements from the first whistle to the final stretch.
The schoolmsays: "This "extra mile" effort is more than just a race; it's a show of solidarity and a mission to reach a massive fundraising milestone in aid of the school's PTA."
Mrs Lucy Cordell, the teacher leading the event added: "This is a powerful reminder that at Arthur Bugler, we are one big family.
"By running alongside them, our staff aren't just cheering from the sidelines; they are leading by example, showing our children that with a bit of grit, a lot of heart, and the right people by your side, any finish line is reachable."

"This isn't just about the physical challenge; it's a mission to raise £5,000 for the school's PTA. Those involved in this event are quite literally "going the extra mile" to ensure that the school can continue to provide every child with incredible experiences and resources they deserve."
