A TILBURY woman and her pet dog are on the mend after being savagely attacked by an unleashed dog in an open space in the town.

Nub News reported on the ferocious attack last week and shared an appeal by the woman's daughter for information about the rogue dog that attacked her mum Tracy and her small pet dog Chloe.

Jade Dahl appealed for information about the owner of the unleashed dog, saying: "She says: "Does anyone know someone with a Brindle Staffie that attacked my mum on Parkside this afternoon (Sunday, 20 February).

"My mum and her dog Chloe we both hurt. My mum's had to go to hospital and Chloe is at the vets in a bad way!"

In the wake of the attack Jade has now revealed her mum spent three days receiving hospital treatment in Chelmsford on wounds to her hands, while Chloe has also been receiving extensive treatment to wounds on her badly mauled leg. Tracy will still require further treatment.

Jade says both are recovering but it will take some time before both the physical and mental scars heal and she is still hoping people will come forward with information, saying: "The dog was brindle Staffy and it literally just run across the road from the beaches and ripped my mum's poor Jack Russel out of her arms!

"Thank you to a lady and her sons who come out to help - one of them got bit too!"

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Jade on her Facebook page.

The police have also been informed about the incident and are investigating.
