THE BBC Essex Senior Cup third round draw has given Aveley the chance to extract further revenge for an early season FA Cup defeat.

In September the Millers bowed out to Barking after drawing 1-1 at Barking and then 1-1 in the replay, but lost the resultant penalty shoot-out 5-4. Less then two weeks after the cup defeat Aveley beat Barking 4-0 at home in the Isthmian North and they will play host again to former manager Justin Gardner's side in the Senior Cup.

They are the only one of the borough's four sides drawn at home.

Grays Athletic, who play Barking away in the second round of the Isthmian Velocity Trophy on Wednesday, 1 December, will go to Waltham Abbey, Tilbury have a trip to Hullbridge Sports, while East Thurrock United will travel to Brightlingsea Regent.

East Thurrock are the last side to lift the trophy, beating Chelmsford 3-1 in 2019. The competition has been abandoned in the intervening incomplete seasons because of Covid.

Ties must be played before Saturday, 18 December.
