EAST Thurrock United showed great resilience during their trip to Margate for this evening's (Tuesday, 26 October) Isthmian Premier fixture, but in the end went down to two late goals.

In contrast to Saturday's 8-0 home capitulation against Enfield Town, the Rocks held their own at Hartsdown Park, keeping the clash goalless at half time.

And they had a great chance to take the lead when awarded a second half penalty but Alex Hernandez saw his kick saved.

Ben Greenhalgh broke the deadlock on 70 minutes and Vance Bola added a second just three minutes later to condemn Paul Martin's side to a fifth consecutive defeat.

In contrast, in the Isthmian North, Tilbury shrugged off their home defeat on Saturday at the hands of Hashtag United and ran out 4-1 winners at Stowmarket Town.

The first half was a story of two penalties, Tilbury taking the lead when Lewis Smith converted one on 32 minutes but two minutes later Jack Ainsley did the same for Town at the other end.

A second Smith penalty on 62 minutes restored the Dockers lead and they wrapped the points up with a 68th minute goal from Roman Campbell and the final goal of the night in the last minute from Ola Ogunwamide.
