EAST Thurrock United have the opportunity to lift the gloom of a run of Isthmian league defeats when they run out at Rookery Hill in the FA Trophy this afternoon.

After five successive defeats during which time they have conceded 19 goals and scored just two, Rocks face a daunting task against Kingstonian who are second in the division.

But there were some encouraging signs for Paul Martin's team in Tuesday's defeat at Margate where they more than matched their hosts but for two late goals.

In the Isthmian North third-placed Grays Athletic are at home at Parkside to Hullbridge Sports and will be looking to endorse their promotion credentials with a win against the bottom club.

Aveley travel to Dereham Town and Tilbury go to Maldon & Tiptree.
