THE misery goes on for East Thurrock United who crashed to a sixth successive defeat and a consecutive home hammering as they bowed out of the FA Trophy today (Saturday, 30 October).

Rocks were beaten 6-0 at home by Kingstonian, just a week after being drubbed 8-0 by Enfield Town.

A crowd of just 146 watched the third qualifying round tie which saw Kingstonian take a grip in the first half with goals in the tenth and 39th minute from Daniel Ajakaiye.

Further goals came as Rocks capitulated in the second half from Elliott Buchanan (50 mins), Gus Sow (68 and 72 pen) and Rhys Murrell-Williamson (84).

In the Isthmian North Grays Athletic moved up to second spot and sit two points behind leaders Canvey Island with a game in hand.

They won 1-0 at home against bottom club Heybridge Swifts who featured former long-serving Grays player Joao Carlos.

Grays' goal, in front of a crowd of 282, came from Joe Paxman after just six minutes.

Grays also owe a vote of thanks to their landlords Aveley who travelled to previously second-placed Dereham Town and won 4-0 with a hat-trick from Alex Akrofi.

He scored in the 30th, 45th and 51st minutes. The Millers' other goal came in the last minute from Shad Ngandu.

The win lifts Aveley to fifth place.

Tilbury travelled to Maldon & Tiptree and lost 4-2. Dockers made a great start and took the lead after five minutes through Lewis Smith.

Malachi Napa (16 mins) and Charlee Hughes (17) put Maldon in front but Roman Campbell continued his recent hot streak and sent Tilbury into the break on level terms thanks to a 41st minute goal.

Napa (56) and Hughes (81) netted again in the second half to secure the win for the hosts.
