Belhus youngster lifts spirits with 122 runs

SATURDAY 17 July saw a clean sweep of disappointing defeats for all Saturday league teams at Belhus CC.
The Belhus CC 1st XI lost away at rivals Chingford by five wickets. There were six wicket defeats for the 2nd XI at home to Ardleigh Greeen & Havering and for the 3rd XI away at Ilford. The Belhus CC 4th XI fared no better with a seven wicket defeat at home to Leigh on Sea. Belhus CC teams were not at their strongest and those players playing up were a credit to themselves and the club.
But the beauty of Sport is that you can always begin to put things right and lift the prevailing gloom the very next day.
The Belhus CC Sunday XI had a morale boosting win away at Horndon CC and there was a maiden century (122 runs) scored by Robert Healy in the Sunday Development team match v Jinnah CC at our North Stifford home ground. Well done Robert and his friend, Teddy Waters for putting together a fantastic 171 partnership at the crease.
