Readers' Letters

I READ your story today (Monday, 27 July) about the new pedestrian and cycle measures.

Grays: Orsett Road/Palmers Avenue/Southend Road. High Street to Lodge Lane - Creating Space for cycling and walking follows government advice. Also waiting outside shops.

Grays: Rectory Road or Whitehall Lane. Create space along route for walking and cycling.

I live in Theobalds Avenue and have seen no sign of any space created for cycling in these listed roads - no pavements have been widened but signs sprayed on the ground at irregular intervals, often seen only once you are well into the zone and on the wrong side!

What officers and councillors are meant to be monitoring this? It is total total rubbish.

Robert Oliver, Grays.
