Gymnasts win praise from leader

OVER the past month gymnasts from Grays-based Essex Elite Gymnastics Club have taken part in an assessment of their strength and conditioning, flexibility and individual skills.
The assessment involved eight levels varying in degree of advancement and complexity.
The club's Rebecca Mallas says: "Unfortunately most proficiency schemes are not tailored to the gymnasts and are very generalised or to be completed once only. The gymnast then receives a badge.
"This is where ours is different our coaching team carefully curates our scheme with yearly changes and amendments to ensure a constant clear progression with a reward of multiple medals and trophies.
"699 awards have been achieved and handed out to our fantastic members for completing our Diamond Proficiency Scheme.
"Every gymnast who took part should be extremely proud of what you achieved, I know we are as a club.
"Thank you to my fantastic coaches who trained the gymnasts over the four week period and completed more than 150 assessments.
"We look forward to completing our next one in December.
