THAMESIDE Primary School is celebrating an incredible sporting achievement after securing first place at the Essex Schools Indoor Athletics Competition - for the second consecutive year.
A talented squad of 21 pupils travelled to Southend to compete against the top-performing primary schools from across Essex, having already earned their place by winning the Thurrock district competition earlier in the season.
A statement from the school says: "Throughout the event, the children showcased outstanding athleticism, teamwork and determination as they participated in a range of track and field events. Their impressive performances earned them a commanding 68point victory, placing them comfortably at the top of the leaderboard.
"Staff and families are immensely proud of the pupils' hard work, sportsmanship and commitment to training. This backtoback county win highlights the school's thriving sports provision and the dedication of both the pupils and the staff who support them.
"Thameside Primary School would like to thank the organisers of the Essex Schools Indoor Athletics Competition and the event volunteers for providing a wonderful day."
