Aveley 0, Slough Town 2

AVELEY are without a league win in eight games following defeat to in-form Slough Town. The match took place at Parkside on Saturday afternoon (23 December).

The Millers have fallen to eighth position in the Vanarama National League South and are in the worst form of any team.

Both teams had efforts of goal, but the game remained nil-nil at halftime.

Slough took the lead in the 56th minute through Johnny Goddard. The visitors caught Aveley by surprise with a lightning counterattack. Jonathan North saved the initial effort well, but the rebound was tapped home by Goddard.

The Millers' woes continued as the visitors doubled their lead just nine minutes later. Temi Ekewa capitalised on another North rebound.

Aveley continues to struggle in the league.

The Millers go again on Boxing Day (26 December) where they face Dover Athletic. The Vanarama National League South game will take place at the Crabble Stadium.

Dover sits in last place on 14 points and has only won once this season. However, they have drawn three of their last five games.
