Aveley 2, St Albans City 1

AVELEY move level on points with seventh place St Albans City after beating them two-one at Parkside. Saturday's (23 March) Non-League Day fixture saw Millers secure three points after a second half comeback.

Millers have a real chance of securing a playoff spot but will need to find some sort of consistency to do so.

St Albans scored the first goal of the game in the 52nd minute after the referee awarded a penalty. Jason Ring brought down the St Albans attacker, no real complaints and Shaun Jeffers converted well.

However, Aveley levelled nine minutes later after Ikechi Eze's unbelievable free kick found the back of the net. Millers fans were sent wild, what an effort!

Aveley were not done yet as Razzaq Coleman De Graft put the home side in the lead after 67 minutes. His powerful shot proved too much for the goalkeeper.

St Albans did not lie down and pressured Millers for the remainder of the game, but with the help of the crowd Aveley held on.

Next, Aveley play Hemel Hempstead at Vauxhall Road on Good Friday (29 March). Hemel have not won in 10 matches and sit 16th in the league; great opportunity for Aveley.
