Aveley throw away three points after leading by two goals

AVELEY suffered a bitter defeat after leading by two goals. The Millers faced Farnborough in the Vanarama National League South on Saturday (2 December) at Parkside.

Aveley is now five league games without a win and have fallen to fourth position in the league.

The Millers went one nil up after 36 minutes thanks to Manny Ogunrinde's smashed finish. He was put through after Hall played a clever flick.

Farnborough hit back three minutes into first-half stoppage time. Aaron Kuhl found Olly Pendlebury on the edge of the box who fired the ball into the top left corner.

Ogunrinde grabbed his second in the 57th minute. Nana Kyei made a fantastic run and had his shot saved but Ogunrinde tapped in the rebound for The Millers.

Just eight minutes later Alex Hernandez curled his effort home from the edge of the area sending Aveley two goals ahead.

The Yellows won a penalty in the 77th minute after Connor Cullen was taken down by goalkeeper Jonathan North. Aaron Kuhl blasted the ball home for the visitors.

Farnborough found themselves level in the 86th minute after Courtney Fearn fired his front post header home.

Boro went on to score again just four minutes later, Selim Saied tapped in from close range.

The Millers threw away the game in the last 15 minutes.

Aveley stay at Parkside when they play Welling United on Monday (4 December) evening. Welling sit 22nd in the Vanarama National League South and lost their last game four-two to Weston-Super-Mare.
