AVELEY play host to Dartford at Parkside today (Saturday, 26 August), the first of two home National League South matches in three days.

They will also be at home to Hampton and Richmond on Bank Holiday Monday. The match should have been an away fixture for the Millers but groundworks at the Beaveree mean Hampton have been forced to play all their first seven matches on the road.

Aveley have made a stunning start to the season and start the weekend in second place, level on points with leaders Worthing, who they beat away in their last match, and third-placed Weston-super-Mare.

In contrast Dartford have had a poor opening four matches and are without a win with just three draws to their name.

It's a genuine derby clash for two teams either side of the Thames and it promises to be a bumper crowd.

Hampton have also struggled and have just one win from their four matches.

In the Isthmian North Grays Athletic will be at home to Gorleston today and make the trip to Maldon & Tiptree on Monday afternoon.

The league season is only one match old but almost the length of the table separates today's rivals, with Gorleston second and Grays bottom.

In third spot at 3pm, are East Thurrock United, who will be in action at Heybridge Swifts, with a home derby to come on Monday against Brentwood.

Both borough teams bowed out of the FA Cup in midweek so will be looking to bounce back.

After a week off, Tilbury resume action with an FA Vase tie at FC Clacton. Dockers will be looking to avenge an Essex Senior League defeat there a couple of weeks ago.

On Monday Dockers have an enticing home derby with early season pacesetters Romford.
