AVELEY play host to north London rivals Enfield Town today (Saturday, 8 February) desperately in need of a change in fortune as they continue to battle against relegation from the National League South.
Despite promising performances since the turn of the year, Aveley come into this match with a mixed bag of recent results. Their last five matches have seen one win, one draw, and three losses and they sit second from bottom.
Last time out they took on Chippenham Town away and the hosts scored with their only two shots on target and ultimately won the game.
Town, two places above the Millers, have a slightly better run of form, with two wins, two draws, and one loss in their last five matches but are currently winless in their last five matches on the road. However, they have shown defensive improvement, not conceding more than one goal in each of their last three games.
Supporters are advised the Parkside car park is closed this afternoon. Alternative arrangements have been made in Belhus Park.
In the Isthmian North Tilbury were in need of a morale-boosting win against Heybridge Swifts but the wet weather of the last couple of days and the toll taken on the pitch in Tuesday's home defeat by Brentwood means the match has been postponed after a 10am inspection.
Grays Athletic make the trek north to take on second-placed Bury Town, also seeking to lift spirits following their defeat by Haringey. They will be looking to repeat the heroics at leaders Felixstowe a couple of weeks ago.
East Thurrock Community FC's home Essex and Suffolk Border league clash against Alresford Colne Rangers is another match postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
