A MUCH-anticipated pre-season encounter takes place at the EMR stadium in Tilbury today where the Dockers will take on tenants and neighbours Grays Athletic (3pm) with the Stan Veness Cup at stake.

Tilbury have won two of their four pre-season matches so far and included a narrow defeat to National League Concord Rangers among their game.

Grays, who currently hold the trophy after a 2-1 win last season, have drawn all three of their games so far this season, their last match away from home at Frenford ending with a 2-2 draw.

Aveley are also in action, travelling to Royston Town where the kick off is 12.30pm in a friendly away from home.

Millers have one win from their outings, against Billericay Town and their last match was a draw with Dulwich Hamlet.

East Thurrock United travel to Great Wakering Rovers for a 2pm kick-off at Burroughs Park.
