Tilbury 2, Concord Rangers 0

TILBURY took the local bragging rights from Thames neighbours Rangers at Chadfields on Tuesday evening (14 January), with a win that lifted them to sixth in the isthmian North, just a point behind the play-off zone - and with a match in hand.

The hosts made a decent start and were ahead after 16 minutes when Rangers failed to clear a corner and Kieran Jones was on hand to volley the ball into the left corner.

and within ten minutes Dockers had established a two-goal lead when Sam Bantick got on the end of an enterprising cross from the left and lifted the ball over the head of keeper Harry Seaden.

The second half was less eventful, though Tilbury were largely in the ascendency and controlled the game. They made three substitutions, including replacing goal scorer Jones with Lindell Stewart after he was injured in the 58th minute and bringing Lewis Clark on for a late cameo on his return after injury.

Tilbury will hope for more of the same on Saturday (18 January) when they entertain 17th placed Gorleston at the EMR Stadium, Chadfields.
