Grays Athletic 8, Hornchurch 0

AFTER six successive defeats Grays rediscovered the winning feeling with some style on Wednesday (14 October) evening.

Admittedly National League Hornchurch showed some lack of respect to this BBC Essex Senior Cup third round tie by fielding their academy side, but you can only beat what's in front of you and Grays did so emphatically.

The Blues were at the throats of their young visitors from the off and were two up in 12 minutes thanks to a brace from Liam Morritt.

It took 23 minutes more to get a third from Brandon Adams and Callum Burkey made it four on 37 minutes.

Morritt wrapped up his hat-trick on the stroke of half time - and in added time Gabriel Chapps made it six.

Grays started the second half with a goal inside a minute from Brandon Adams and Chapps added his second to complete the goals feast on 68 minutes.
