Concord Rangers 5, Grays 0
GRAYS exit the BBC Essex Senior Cup after falling to higher league opposition, Concord Rangers. The quarter-final took place at the Aspect Arena on Friday evening (22 December).
Concord plays in the Isthmian League Premier Division, one division above The Blues.
The match was level at the break. However, Grays would go on to concede five in the second half.
Concord's Captain Khale Da Costa gave the home side their lead just one minute into the second 45. The Beach Boys grabbed their second goal in the 54th minute thanks to Harrison Day.
The Blues might've thought they spared their blushes, but quickfire goals in the 85th, 87th, and 90th minute by Amine Sassi, Day, and Bryan Ifeanyi sealed a disappointing defeat.
Grays return to league action on Boxing Day (26 December) when they travel to Bowers & Pitsea. The Isthmian League North Division clash will take place at the Len Salmon Stadium.
Bowers sits 4th in the league, winning three of their last 5 games.
