Basildon United 2, Grays Athletic 1
GRAYS let an early lead slip against Basildon United in Saturday's (9 March) Isthmian League North Division clash. Blues were one goal to the good inside the first minute at The Hive, but Bees found a way back.
Grays' first minute corner was met by Jack Humphrey on the volley and was hooked into the top corner. A superb finish and start to the game for Blues.
Basildon went on to equalise in the 34th minute through Ben Allen who then scored the winner after 80 minutes.
After the game, Grays Athletic Football Club said on X, "An uninspiring game on a difficult playing surface. Thank you for your support."
Grays go again on Tuesday (12 March) when they face Brightlingsea Regent at the EMR Stadium. Brightlingsea have only won one of their last 10 games and sit 10th in the Isthmian League North Division.
