HISTORY will be made by East Thurrock Community FC today (Saturday, 25 July) when the Rocks play their first match in the Thurlow Nunn (Eastern Counties Football League) Division One South.

They travel to Wodson Park in Ware where they will play FC Barasi.

And there will be a quick turnaround for the club's first home league match at Rookery Hill, when they host Basildon Town on Tuesday (28 July, 7.45pm KO).

Grays Athletic, who lost 2-0 at home to Sporting Bengal in their first home pre-season match at Chadfields on Wednesday (22 July) return there today for the annual Stan Veness Cup derby with Tilbury.

The latest incarnation of 'El Chavico' kicks off at 3pm.

Aveley continue their pre-season today with a trip to manager Brett Munyard's former club, Brightlingsea Regent. Kick-off at North Road has been brought forward to 1pm.

In midweek Aveley confirmed the departure of defender Harry Haysom, who joined Millers in October 2025 from Hashtag United.

He made 24 appearances and got his name on the scoresheet once throughout the 2025/26 season.
