THE merry-go-round of players at Aveley FC following the sudden departure of former manager Brett Munyard to Brentwood Town has continued following the appointment of new boss Alex Akrofi.

Last week, ahead of Friday evening's win against Ware in the FA Trophy, Akrofi announced four new signings, which offset the departure of captain Ryan Henshaw to Brentwood.

Since then, George Saunders and Jayden Robinson have followed in the footsteps of Munyard and Henshaw to the fellow Isthmian Premier League.

Saunders joined Millers from neighbours Hornchurch at the beginning of the 2025/26 season and made 47 appearances, scoring 12 and assisting 15 times in his first season

This season he has found himself playing at right back on numerous occasions but made eight appearances and still scored two goals in games against Leatherhead and Wingate & Finchley.

Robinson, joined after an impressive season in the Isthmian North with Brightlingsea Regent, where Jayden scored five goals as Regent narrowly missed out in the play-off final. In his first season for Aveley Jayden scored five and assisted a further two goals in 46 appearances. He started this season on fire with two goals in the opening games, and would go on to make nine appearances in total.

Also on the way out of Parkside is goalkeeper Charlie Turner, who has signed for Munyard's old club, Isthmian North side Brightlingsea Regent.

He departs Parkside after stepping in and helping Millers secure back-to-back clean sheets in victories over St Albans City and Wingate & Finchley to finish second in the Isthmian Premier League last season.

Turner, who asked to be released, said: "I have loved representing the club, from playing a very small part last season to then being number one at the start of this season.

"I wish the club all the best going forward and have no doubt Alex can bring back success!"

However, there has been a significant arrival with Jon Nzengo back to Parkside after starting the season at Tilbury. He has made six appearances for the Dockers, and scored twice.

Nzengo is something of a legend at both Brentwood and the Millers. He made 15 appearances last season for Town, 50 as they won the Pitching In Isthmian North title in 24-25, and 29 as they reached the Play Off Final in 23-24.

He was previously even more successful at Aveley, making 35 appearances in the Millers defence during the record breaking 2019-20 Trophy run, scoring in the giant-killing victory over Chelmsford City. He then made 42 appearances as they cantered to the Pitching In Isthmian North title in 21-22, 44 as they won promotion to National League South via the play-off final the following season, and then went on to play at Step Two before the move to Brentwood.

Previously he spent the 20-21 season with East Thurrock United, playing only nine times due to the pandemic - and that was his second spell with the Rocks, as he was also with the club in National League South.

He also played for Romford, scoring in four of his first five games with the club in 2017-18, a campaign which saw him appear forty nine times and score eight goals in total. He went on to feature for Boro briefly during the following two seasons, too. He also spent time with Ware.

Defender Frankie Moralee has also arrived at Parkside on an initial one month loan from National League side Hornchurch.

Moralee started his career making his way through the youth ranks of EFL League One side Bromley, which included gaining valuable experience with loans to AFC Whyteleafe and Cray Wanderers.

In the summer he made the move from Hayes Lane to The Hornchurch Stadium.
