Dockers delivered a telling message for their hosts at Ashtons

Woodfood Town 0, Tilbury 4

DOCKERS produced the best result of a season that is rapidly gaining momentum when they travelled to Ashtons to meet the unbeaten Essex Senior League leaders on Friday evening (13 October) and came away with a big win.

They didn't take long to lay out their intent, coming off the back of a slightly frustrating home midweek draw against Coggeshall. Just five minutes had gone when Dan Trendall picked up a ball over the top and fired it into the net.

On a thoroughly wet and miserable evening, Tilbury were lifting their supporters's spirits and were the dominant side. Alfie Fry went wide with a volley and Roman Campbell was just inches away from getting a touch to a ball fizzed into the box as they took the game to their hosts.

Though the tide was already with them, Dockers then got a further boost when Alexandru Bolovan collected his second booking on the half hour for a late challenge and it wasn't long before Tilbury doubled their advantage when Toby Adekunle's low free kick took a touch off a defender before hitting the net.

And right on half time Trendall forced his way through, shrugging off attempted tackles before firing home Dockers' third and his second of the night.

With the outcome all but done and dusted there was less impetus in the second half but Tilbury were not to be denied a fourth goal and an emphatic statement when, five minutes from time, Harvey Browne delivered a cross to the back post where Connor Martin met it with an excellent finish to round off a great night for the visitors.
