Matches survive pitch inspections and it's game on in the Isthmian League

AVELEY are in action at Parkside where they entertain seventh-placed Folkestone Invicta.

The Millers, who won through to the final of the Velocity Cup in midweek, sit third in the Isthmian Premier and will be seeking to keep the pressure on leaders Bishops Stortford and second-placed Hornchurch who are three and two points above them respectiveley.

Aveley boss Danny Scopes continues to strengthen his squad as the season approaches its climax and this week added striker Nick Dembele, lately of Potters Bar Town.

Earlier in the season he was at Bognor Regis.

Scopes says: "Folkestone bring a wealth of talentin their squad and come off the back of some great results and an excellent win against one ofthe top sides and the clear favourites to win the league, Bishop Stortford.

"It will be a real challenge for us and one we are looking forward to taking on as a group.

"The squad is in good shape and joyful after securing our place in the league cup final on Monday."

In the Isthmian North Tilbury travel to Bury Town after the match survived an early morning inspection.

There is no word out of Chadfields about a replacement for manager Scott Dash who left the Dockers a couple of weeks ago.

There was also a pitch inspection at Rookery Hill and East Thurrock's game, their first with new manager Steve Butterworth, remains on.

The Rocks will play host to Wroxham and Butterworth says his team is still within touching distance of a play-off place.

Grays Athletic are already in that zone and travel to fifth-placed Felixstowe and Walton United, a place below the Blues. The game has also survived a pitch inspection this morning.
