AS was speculated, management duo Marc Harrison and Liam Wallace have returned to take over at relegation-threatened Tilbury – though their first match back in charge of the Dockers ended in a narrow defeat at Bury Town today (Saturday, 11 March).

There has still been no official word from the club on the management situation, though a brief statement on the club's Twitter account just before today's kick-off said: "Welcome Home Marc Harrison, Liam Wallace, Oli Spooner, Tommy Barton, Adam Vyse and Harry Girling."

Girling has already made a return between the sticks in last week's thumping at the hands of Hashtag United, but Barton, Vyse and Spooner - who had quit East Thurrock United in midweek - all returned to Dockers' colours today.

It proved a goalless first half but the decisive moment came on 77 minutes when Darren Mills got the only goal of the game.

The 1-0 defeat, and a win for Great Wakering Rovers at Brentwood, dropped Tilbury to third from bottom.

Just Hullbridge Sports and Coggeshall sit below them in the automatic relegation spots, by one and two points respectively, and Dockers have massive fixtures against both clubs in the next couple of weeks.

They go to Hullbridge on Tuesday (14 March) and travel to Coggeshall on Saturday, 25 March.

Elsewhere in the division it was a disappointing day for Grays Athletic and East Thurrock United.

Grays started the day in the play-off zone but dropped out of it after a 1-0 defeat at fellow promotion-chasers Felixstowe & Walton United. The match was decided by Callum Harrison's 58th minute goal.

East Thurrock's new manager Steve Butterworth took charge for the first time at home to Wroxham but there was to be no debut joy.

Harley Black scored for the visitors on 18 minutes and then wrapped the points up with a last minute second.

Things continue to be tight at the top of the Isthmian Premier and Aveley are right in the title mix.

They recorded an eleventh home win of the season, beating Folkestone Invicta 2-1.

The morning's table-toppers Bishops Stortford suffered another setback, losing 3-2 at home to Hastings, the visitors scoring twice in the closing moments to turn the match on its head.

Hornchurch top the table this evening after thumping bottom club Brightlingsea Regent 4-1.

Ryan Scott opened the scoring for the Millers against Folkestone on 35 minutes, only for Ian Gayle to equalise just after the hour.

However, substitute Benas Vaivada made an immediate impact after replacing George Sykes on 85 minutes - grabbing the winner just two minutes later!
