AVELEY will be looking for a historic performance today (Saturday, 18 January) after travelling overnight for their Vanarama National League South clash against Truro City.
The sides are at opposite ends of the table, with a resurgent Truro challenging for promotion from their new, fan-built Truro Sports Hub stadium while Millers are trapped in a relegation dogfight.
Building on positives identified by manager Danny Scopes after last week's draw with Chesham, and to give themselves the best chance of a positive outcome from the longest trek of the season, Aveley travelled overnight for the first time for a league game, with the team staying in Exeter, to cut travel time down on match day.
They still face a nearly two hour 88 mile trek after breakfaasting this morning!
Millers this week announced that striker Ibby Akanbi has dual-signed with AFC Croydon Athletic, while defender Alex Giles has been recalled from loan by his parent club, Gillingham.
In the Isthmian North Tilbury continue to press for a place in the play-off zone and they will be looking to neighbours Grays for a favour today as well.
Tilbury sit sixth, a point behind Witham Town, who entertain Grays.
Dockers are at home to 16th-placed Gorleston and after the impressive midweek win against Concord Rangers will be in good heart.
Grays fared less well in their last fixture, also on Tuesday (14 Jan), losing at Waltham Abbey and they are in need of a season-reviving performance at the Simarco Stadium.
Grays will draw some hope from Witham's recent form. Town have suffered four defeats in their last six outings, with only wins against Concord Rangers and Haringey Borough breaking the sequence.
In the Essex and Suffolk Border League East Thurrock Community FC are home to Brightlingsea Town.
