EAST Thurrock United manager Marc Harrison, along with his assistant Liam Wallace and the bulk of their backroom staff, will be leaving the club after tomorrow's (Saturday, 4 March) game with Stowmarket at Rookery Hill.

The club has announced the decision came following a midweek discussion between Marc and club chairman Steve Wiseman at which the club finances and playing budget were discussed at some length.

A statement from the Rocks says: "Most supporters will be aware that over the last three years or so, a lot of work and sacrifice has taken place to stabilise the financial situation at the club, and the football club is now operating debt free and on a sound self financing basis.

"We cannot put the future of the club in jeopardy by making promises we cannot afford to keep."

Local speculation is immediately linking Harrison and Wallace with a return to neighbours Tilbury, where manager Scott Dash quit today.
