Tilbury eight points clear at the top after three-one victory

TILBURY beat struggling Coggeshall Town at West Street on Saturday (17 February). It was top-against-bottom in the Essex Senior League and as expected, Dockers travel home with all the points.

Tilbury took the lead just nine minutes into the game through Roman Campbell. A poor clearance lands and Campbell's feet who finishes from close range.

Dockers doubled their lead after Campbell scored a penalty (33). Macauley Joynes was fouled just inside the penalty area and the ref pointed to the spot.

Early in the second half, Tilbury had a goal ruled out for offside. Sam Carter's volley deflected off the offside man Ben Marlow on its way in.

Coggeshall grabbed a goal back in the 62nd minute. Tayo Adedejo got on the end of Roy Stevens' cross and converted. Offside shouts from Dockers were dismissed by the officials.

The home side went on to get a red card as James Pugsley was penalised for his late challenge on Harry Donovan in the 78th minute.

David Knight killed the game for Tilbury after scoring near the end in the 90th minute.

Dockers are now eight points clear at the top!

Next, Tilbury travel to Milbank Stadium to play Halstead Town in the Essex Senior League this Tuesday (20 February). Halstead have not won in three league games and sit ninth in the league.
