NEW Tilbury manager Scott Dash was due to take charge of the struggling Dockers for the first time today, hoping to turn a run of poor form around following the departure of John Coventry and the two match losing tenure of caretaker Kurt Smith.

However, a waterlogged pitch meant the match was postponed.

Scott, who was earmarked for the job having been recommended to Tilbury, was a Wycombe Wanderers youth, and also played for Hayes, Beaconsfield and Hillingdon Borough.

He managed Leverstock Green and then Northwood, steering the Woods to a tenth place South Central finish in 2018-19 before becoming First Team Coach and Assistant Manager at Chalfont St Peter.

He then went on to manage Southern League side Kempston Rovers last season.

It was a tough campaign during which saw Rovers win just nine matches and they only survived relegation by winning in the play-off final. Dash departed at the end of the season.

Together with newly appointed assistant manager Mark Royal he takes his new charges to Basildon United today.

The Bees have been much improved of late, with only two defeats from their last eight matches, and start the day six points and four places above Tilbury.

Also in the Isthmian North Grays Athletic travel to meet Maldon & Tiptree, who have had a revival since appointing veteran manager Peter Taylor.

He has steered the Jammers to three successive 1-0 wins.

Grays will be looking to get back into the top five on the back of improved run and which has seen them win their last four- and indeed five of their last six.

Aveley will be seeking to maintain their Isthmian Premier play-off place with a win at Parkside against Wingate & Finchley, who sit just above the drop zone.
