THE borough's three senior non-League clubs enjoyed an excellent mid October Saturday (19 October) with three victories.
Aveley will probably have been most pleased, picking up their second Vanarama National League South win of the season at north London rivals Enfield Town.
It was nip and tuck for much of the first half with chances at either end before Enfield broke the deadlock on 42 minutes when Harry Ottaway put the ball into the mixer and Jack Smith was in the right place to force the ball past Millers' keeper Carey Bloedorn.
But the response from Aveley was almost instantaneous and they went in level at the break, albeit after seven added minutes, after Manny Ogunrinde sliced the ball home from six yards out three minutes after Town netted.
Enfield came out strongest in the opening stages of the second half and had chances, but it was the Millers who were to score next, just after the hour when Joshua Anifowose beat keeper Rhys Forster from distance.
Like the first half, an equaliser was not long in coming. Just four minutes passed before Ottaway controlled a loose ball and drilled it into the corner from a tight angle.
Parity lasted another seven minutes!
Slack Enfield defending allowed Razzaq Coleman De-Graft the chance to scramble the ball home after the hosts failed to clear their lines.
And the match was made secure for Aveley a minutes from time when Charlee Hughes crashed the ball home.
Millers are swiftly back in action and entertain Maidstone United on Monday evening.
Tilbury are going great guns in the Isthmian North and remain second after a 1-0 win at Mildenhall Town thanks to another goal from Alex Hernandez, who made it seven goals in seven matches for the Dockers when he got on the end of a 62nd minute Macaukey Joynes cross and rifled the ball home.
Grays Athletic left it very late to secure a home victory against Ipswich Wanderers.
Alejandro Machado had put them ahead after ten minutes but it wasn't until Aron Gordon added a second seven minutes into stoppage time that a 2-0 win was secured.
Grays are back in action on Tuesday when they go to Newmarket Town.
East Thurrock Community FC were unable to make it a clean sweep for Thurrock sides, beaten 3-0 at Brightlingsea Town in the Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division, with the hosts going top as a result.
The Rocks remain second from bottom in their inaugural season.
