TILBURY Band will be playing to support the Maritime Remembrance Memorial Service at the Port of Tilbury, as it has for more than half a century. 

This year it's been moved to a Tuesday (11 November) to coincide with Armistice Day. 

The memorial service is in memory of those who worked for the Port of London Authority who died in conflict, but also for the local community which was damaged during hostilities in WWII.

The service starts at 6pm, but refreshments are available in the Baggage Hall from 5pm. 

Thurrock Nub News has regularly covered the annual service which takes place within the London Cruise Terminal which features memorials containing the names of the dead and stained glass windows.
