ANOTHER successful litter-pick and river clean-up operation took place on the banks of the Thames in Thurrock this week.

Organiser and River Action Clean-Up Facilitator Steve Catchpole arranged the event, with limited and pre-booked numbers because of coronavirus restrictions on Thursday and they worked along the Graffiti Wall in West Thurrock, starting from St Clements Church.

Steve says: "It was another great litter pick and we enjoyed a wet but very enjoyable morning. 15 people collected 49 sacks including 210 single use plastic bottles.

"Although not photographed, a seal was spotted in the river checking out our work. I imagine he was impressed as he took a look and quickly swam away!"

Steve has organised future events which include the following dates but stresses "pre-booking is critical. Do not attend unless I have confirmed your places."

Steve can be contacted via email at [email protected].
