Town centre teams report successes as they combat anti-social behaviour

By Neil Speight 10th Jun 2020

THURROCK's town centre policing teams in Grays and South Ockendon have reported a number of successes in their bid to curtail anti-social behaviour.

On Sunday, 7 June, PC Dedman and PC Plom located a vehicle in North Stifford following reports of anti-social behaviour. Four occupants were stopped and searched and around 200 nitrous oxide canisters were seized along with a small amount of cannabis.

Yesterday (Tuesday 9 June) PC Walker and Acting Police Sergeant Mackinnon conducted high visibility patrols around Grays town centre and Seabrooke Rise following concerns of anti-social behaviour in the area.

And in South Ockendon, PCs Dedman and Harris had an off road bike fail to stop for them. Following a short foot chase the rider was quickly detained. The bike was seized and the rider has been reported to court for:

- Failure to stop for police

- Driving without a driving licence

- Driving without insurance
