A SECTION of the A13 will once again be closed this weekend to enable major bridge construction works to continue as part of the A13 road widening project.

The A13 will be closed in both directions beneath the Orsett Cock roundabout, from 9pm on Friday, 22 November until 5am on Monday, 25 November.

Traffic will be diverted via the exit slip roads, Orsett Cock roundabout and back onto the A13 via the entry slip roads at the A128 junction.

Delays are expected and all non-local traffic is urged to avoid the A13 and use alternative routes such as the A130, A127 and M25.

To help keep local traffic on the move during entire-weekend closures, measures will be put in place including the closure of Buckingham Hill Road in Linford and Orsett Road in Horndon, as well as implementing a one-way system in Gordon Road and Victoria Road in Horndon.

The latest information about the project, including details of planned road restrictions can be found online at www.thurrock.gov.uk/a13
