A BOROUGH pub and its associated restaurant is to close at the end of the month – the second Thurrock venue to close its doors since the turn of the year.

Recently Thurrock Nub News reported on the closure of the Chadwell Arms in Chadwell St Mary – now the Railway Tavern in the heart of Stanford-le-Hope is to shut.

Also closing will be the popular Gino's Taverna Italian restaurant – originally opened and run by Gino Renoldi who died in 2020. His family, with 25 years association with the pub, continued to run both businesses but have now decided to close and will do so with a farewell event at the King Street venues on Saturday, 31 January.

A spokesperson for the family said: "Our time at Ginos and Railway Tavern is coming to an end. We would love for you all to join us for one last time on Saturday, 31 January for a celebration of 25 years.

"We would like to personally thank all the staff over the years and our loyal customers.

"We would love to see you all, old faces and new."
