A FORMER pupil at Treetops School in Grays - who has already been nominated for and won awards for his contributions to charity and local communities - is up for another honour.

Thurrock Nub News has previously reported on the work of Samuel Turner, including news of his first book, "The Autistic Side of Love" which was published earlier this year. It was based on his work as a film maker.

Sam, 25, originally from Stanford-le-Hope, but who moved with his parents, Jacky and Barry to Wales on their retirement in 2019, has now been nominated for recognition at this year's National Diversity Awards in Liverpool.

People who know Sam and his work are invited to vote for him, via this link: https://www.nationaldiversityawards.co.uk/awards-2022/nominations/samuel-turner/ in th4e category 'Postive Role Model Award for Disability'.

Among honours previously achieved by Sam, he was crowned the ITV Fundraising Winner of Wales in October 2020 after raising £2,000 to help brain-injured children in the UK.
