Campaigners call for residents to submit views on huge green belt planning application

CAMPAIGNERS opposing a proposed housing development to the north of Chadwell St Mary have urged residents to lodge their opinions with Thurrock Council before a deadline expires later this month.
Thurrock Council is considering a planning application submitted in May this year to build up to 385 houses on arable land.

It's the latest of a number of proposals surrounding Chadwell and opponents are hoping public opinion will sway councillors to reject it.
In a message to residents about the application (which can be viewed in full via this link) they say: "If this is something that concerns you, please take a few minutes to visit the Thurrock Council planning page and make your voice heard.
"This isn't just about building houses. It's about losing valuable green space, farmland that currently helps grow our food, and habitats that are home to a huge variety of wildlife.
"Once this land is covered in concrete and houses, it's gone. Forever.
"We all know that housing is needed, but we also need to think carefully about what we are losing in the process.
"Please don't assume someone else will speak up. Your opinion matters.

"When submitting your comments, please take the time to explain in your own words why this development concerns you. It might be the loss of farmland, the impact on wildlife, increased traffic, pressure on local roads, schools and services, or simply the loss of the green space that makes our area what it is.
"Every individual comment helps ensure local concerns are heard and considered
