A TEAM from Thurrock Council's environmental services department were deployed overnight to clear the latest fly-tipping on a rural road which has become a notorious dumping ground.

Last week Thurrock Nub News reported on a major fly-tip on Cooper Shaw Road and highlighted the lack of enforcement action and pro-active deterrents employed by Thurrock Council.

Last night (Monday, 2 November) the latest tip on the road between Tilbury and West Tilbury was reported.

Pressure for more to be done has been expressed by local ward councillor Bailey Scott who said: "This is completely unacceptable and shows a total disregard for our local environment, residents and the safety of motorists.

"Those responsible must be identified and held accountable. Thurrock is not a dumping ground."
