BOROUGH residents and visitors are expected to flock to the banks of the Thames in the west of the borough on Sunday (15 December) when a riverside landmark will be demolished.

The final part of the River Thames' last standing power station, Littlebrook Power Station, will be brought down at 8am.

The demolition will coincide with a short rolling road block on the Dartford Crossing to avoid motorists driving across the bridge becoming distracted.

A spokesperson for demolition contractors Brown and Mason said: "Although the explosion and collapse may be heard off site, any noise will be over very quickly.

"Any dust generated will be controlled on site."

Works, which mainly consist of the clear up, are set to be completed next year.
