POLICE officers in Thurrock have mounted an operation to put the squeeze on criminals in the borough.

They have taken to social media to tell of successes over the weekend in bringing people to justice.

A statement said: "Officers from B shift CPT continue to run operations LEMON, WEAPON and LUCIFA.

"Over the last eight shifts alone, the operations, targeting drug related activity and vehicle crime have seen arrests well in the double figures for offences including but not all, drug driving, theft of motor vehicles, possession of controlled substances with the intent to supply them and many other vehicle crime related offences.

"This has seen disruption of organised crime groups, and prolific offending in the Thurrock area.

"Last night (Friday) alone saw arrests for possession with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article by PC Stocker, a drug driver by PC Cleminson and a reckless driver in chafford hundred causing a collision with five uniformed officers standing in front of him who has been dealt with for the relevant offences."
