THURROCK Council's home care service Caring for Thurrock has received a 'good' rating across all areas following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in February.

The service, which provides personal care to people living in their own flats and houses, was rated Good overall and in five areas relating to safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and well-led.

CQC inspected Caring for Thurrock based at Piggs Corner on Southend Road, Grays, from Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 February 2023 and published the findings in a report released on Tuesday 28 February 2023.

Cllr Deb Arnold, cabinet member for adults and health, said: "This is the first inspection of Caring for Thurrock which was newly registered on Friday 4 November 2022 and I'm delighted that this report reflects the high-quality service that residents who use the scheme receive.

"Both residents and staff said they felt well-treated and supported and the report also highlights positive feedback about the scheme and how it helps our residents to maintain their independence in their own homes.

"Thank you to our teams for their hard work ensuring this crucial service continues to deliver the best support for our residents needing personal domiciliary care in Thurrock."
